Dear Kurt,
I finally decided that my Sony STRDB1080QS is not the receiver for my two P4XL speakers. In Stereo mode is the sound not good (screaming) and not warm but chill.
Somehow the Sony can't deliver the right power and sound to control the speakers. I want more warmth, depth and detail in the sound. I prefer a receiver because the place where my system must stand is in a Spectral (closed) möbel. I have two possibilities in mind. A Denon or a Marantz.
That leaves me 4 choices, Denon: AVC-A11XV or the new AVR-4306, Marantz: SR 9600 or SR8500. I know I have to listen to all of them, but perhaps you have some useful tips or experiences in what way the receivers fit to Piega (P4XL) speakers. I also considered to add a subwoofer to my Sony, but I still think the sound will be not warm enough in stereo mode. In surround mode the Sony is acceptable. Maybe you have a complete different idea about the combination, just let me know what so that I can consider the possibilities. Hopefully you have something in mind.
Best regards,
Ben van der Lee
