I've just replaced my Yamaha NX-E270 center with a Piega premium center speaker, because i wanted an improvement in voice clarity with the necessary punch.
My amp is an Onkyo TX-NR676E combined with the other Yamaha NX home theatre set pieces, so basically the Piega really should stand out in sound quality compared to my other low end-ish gear.
Unfortunately i'm somewhat dissapointed in the Piega audio output. I could describe the sound as muddy and boomy. It's like the sound is trapped into the speaker cabinet and does not fill the room. My old and cheap Yamaha center speaker sounds much more clear.
I have tweaked the EQ, but to no avail.
The Piega is sitting on a MDF wooden cabinet, standing on the four rubber feet that came with the package.
I'll attach a comparison sound file which roughly gives an indication about the difference. Piega first, Yamaha second, same sound clip.
I hope to find some tips here how i can solve this issue and make the Piega sound more clearly.
